Never a dull moment with milkshake monkey

Our director, David Dodds, is no stranger to the camera, often sharing his expertise on bats and bat conservation on television. Over the years, he has appeared alongside notable figures like Chris Packham, Bill Oddie, and Lyndsey Chapman. However, his latest venture might just top them all. David recently filmed an episode for the upcoming series of Milkshake Monkey's Amazing Adventures on Channel 5, where he introduced Milkshake Monkey to the fascinating world of bats.

A Fun and Educational Experience

Filming with Milkshake Monkey was a unique and enjoyable experience for David. "I was impressed with the skills and professionalism of the puppeteer – I soon forgot it was a puppet I was talking to," he said. The challenge was to make the content engaging and educational for a young audience, specifically 5-year-olds. David showcased a live Noctule bat and explained how bats live their lives, aiming to inspire a future generation to appreciate and understand the importance of these incredible creatures.

Watch the Episode

The episode featuring David and Milkshake Monkey will be available on Channel 5 and My5 from August or September 2021 onwards. It's a fantastic opportunity for children and adults alike to learn more about bats in a fun and accessible way.
